Facebook is a constantly growing platform and one that is increasingly helpful when it comes to advertising your new business. If you’re struggling to figure out just how to use this tool to help you advertise, then look no further than below for a guide to help you navigate Facebook and use it as a tool to help advertise.
The best ways to advertise your landscaping business on Facebook are by posting ads, joining smaller groups, creating new content, posting your business’s website, and staying consistent in your advertising.
Navigating social media platforms can be confusing and for those of us less tech-savvy, scary at best! But don’t fret, with some help from this article and a little hands-on practice, you’ll feel comfortable with advertising on Facebook in no time! Read on to learn more about each of these topics and how you can easily learn to use them to help you!
Posting Ads

Facebook is known for letting its users create posts. This can be anything from how you are feeling, to what you had for lunch today, or in our case – talking about your new landscaping business. Create posts that tell your followers about your business, the services you offer, your pricing, and most importantly provide your contact information! Ideally, this would be a website that they can click into and find more information on – but if for whatever reason you don’t have a website (I highly advise you to create a website) list your email or phone number so they have a proper way of contacting that isn’t just through Facebook messenger.
Think of your Facebook page as your virtual business card. You wouldn’t hand out a physical business card with no way for them to contact you afterward. The same goes for your ads, you are on Facebook and they can always reach out to you through the platform, but for clients and vendors who want to go through a more professional route, you should list your business email and phone number for them to be able to reach out.
When creating your ads, make sure to always create eye-catching and easy-to-read content that will appeal to your audience. Ideally, people will be resharing this with others so that you will continue to get more and more attention. So you want something universally appealing and inclusive.
Another clever advertising technique on Facebook is to offer a discount code or coupon if they bring the code or the flier into your store. This gives the clients an added benefit to shopping with you, and an added reason to saving or printing off your flier. This will also increase the number of people they share your ad with and help you get your name out.
How To Create Your Landscaping Advertising Slogan
Joining Smaller Groups
There are so many groups on Facebook, and they’re easy and free to join! Join groups that relate to your business – in our case that may be landscaping enthusiasts, horticulture lovers flower experts, or something else! – that you know will appreciate and be receptive to the ads you are pushing out. Again, as we discussed above, carefully plan your content to appeal to your audience. Tweak each ad to relate to the group that you are pushing out your ad to. There is no one-size-fits-all, and it’s hard to capture everybody with just the same ad over and over again.
Think about it, you wouldn’t expect to see the same ad at both a theme park and your doctor’s office. Even the same brands who may sell a wide variety of items, tweak their ads for individual places. Likewise, you need to tweak your ads so it is geared toward the specific audience you are trying to reach.
Keep Creating New Content

A very important lesson that needs to be understood, is that you need to keep changing to stay relevant to your audience. These days people have shorter attention spans than they used to, and once they get bored of one thing, they simply move on to the other. To avoid this and stay relevant, you need to keep up with the changing market and trends. Do research on what is trending at the moment and create content around your business that fits these trends. You don’t want to be that old company that got left behind because you refused to change.
Create content that appeals to clients. These days clients love getting to know the businesses and products they buy and shop with. One good way of building this connection is to post videos about your company. Take them behind the scenes of what it took to set up your business. Post clips of interviews with the team so your clients can get to know your team better. Show videos of how they can use the tools that they can purchase from you. If your company is locally grown, tell them how and why they should shop with you. There are many ways to pull at clients’ heartstrings and connect with them emotionally, you just have to get creative and find out what it is that appeals to them.

Posting your Businesses Website
Like I said earlier, I highly advise that you build a website for your business. A website allows you to have one central place where all the information on your business lives. Information such as business hours, location, services and products you offer, and pricing. Now that I have convinced you to build a website – advertise it so your clients easily have access to it.
Whenever you put out a post on your business, your website should be attached to it in some way so clients can find it and find you. Every ad, every post, every video you post should have your website attached to it. Don’t overthink it, this is the easy part.
Staying Consistent with Your Advertising
Advertising is not a one-time and-done thing. You have to keep at it for it to succeed. Constantly update your Facebook page with new ads. Run promotions when major holidays pop up and do so weeks in advance to get the word out. Let clients know when you’ve added a new service. With clients’ permission, post photos of projects that you have completed for them so new guests can get a preview of your work.
We’ve all visited Facebook pages where the last post was from 2015 and the page looks like it hasn’t been updated since. We might even question whether their business is still around or whether it’s been shut down. You do not want this to happen to your business. If you’re going to run a Facebook page for your landscaping business, do it correctly, or don’t do it at all. At any point when a client visits your page, you want all information, pictures, and ads to be current and up to date.
Bringing it all Together

Running a Facebook page for your business can be tricky and scary. But like all things, once you get comfortable with it, it should start to get easier with time. Don’t forget to have fun with it. The best posts are the ones that are personable and show your guests a glimpse of who you and your team are. They don’t need some polished superficial look at your company; they want to see who they are working with and that they are entering into business with a team they can trust. So, show them what you have to offer! Best of luck!

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I create new content/post new posts?
I would recommend posting new content on your Facebook page every day if you have the time for it. Think of any popular brand you may follow on Facebook, they put out new posts constantly, so their customers are always seeing new ads from them. If you don’t have the time to put out new content daily, try aiming for at least three to four times per week. If it helps, try creating your entire week’s content in one sitting the week before. Then all you need to do is go in and post one per day.
How many Facebook groups should I join?
I would join as many as you can reasonably manage to keep up with. There is no such thing as getting the word out there too much. But as a new business owner, you do have many other responsibilities you need to see to. So, join as many as you can keep up with and regularly interact with. It doesn’t help you to join twenty groups if you only have the time to regularly post in five of them. Both quantity and quality are important when it comes to advertising.
