How To Create Your Landscaping Advertising Slogan

You can’t deny how catchy a well-thought-out slogan can be. Not only catchy, but it can stick in peoples’ minds and become a part of a brand identity. Think of slogans like “Just Do It” “Finger Lickin Good” or “A Diamond is Forever”. I don’t even have to mention the company’s names, but you likely know the brand I am talking about. That’s why creating a slogan for your new landscaping is important. That’s what we’re going to talk about here today.

The key to creating a unique slogan is connecting with your audience, making it relevant to your business/industry, relating it to your business, and being creative with it. Use these tips to create a slogan that is fitting to your specific business and live on in the hearts of your customers forever!

Creating a slogan doesn’t have to be hard work, nor does it require a creative person to create one. We’ll take a look at four different slogans that I’ve come up with and the four guiding tips I used to come up with them. Then, we’ll take a look at what went into creating it, and how you can use the same principles to create your unique slogan!

Connecting to Your Audience

How to Create Your Landscaping Advertising Slogan

With all of the competition you face in the business world these days, you have to make sure your business stands out from the crowd. One way of doing this is to emotionally connect with your audience. If you build trust from the get-go in this way you will have a much easier time winning clients and building a solid clientele.

You may wonder how you can build trust with your clients with a slogan, but think about it, if your company name and slogan are the first interaction a guest has with you then whatever they see will leave a lasting impression. Whether you come off as caring, genuine, fake, or untrustworthy can depend a lot on how a client first perceives you. So, let’s make it count.

Say the slogan you use is “Care is at our Core” This says to your clients that caring for your customers is at the core of what you do and stand for as a company. This will especially come in handy if you are just getting started and don’t have forty years of experience to boast about. To make up for your lack of experience in the industry, use other tools such as customer service, loyalty, service guarantees, customer care, or something similar to draw in clients.

This will tell your clients what they can expect from you when they work with your landscaping company. This will also provide them with a piece of mind about choosing a new business they haven’t worked with before.

Making it Relevant to Your Business/Industry

Whatever you decide to settle on for your slogan, make sure it is relevant to the industry that you are in. In our case, we are talking about landscaping slogans. So, it may not make sense to have your slogan read “Pink Prancing Ponies” You likely don’t sell ponies or anything else that prances at your shop. So, this wouldn’t at all make sense as a slogan that will help brand your business.

The more relevant and specific the better, so guests can reasonably gauge from your business what your company has to offer. Say I were to use something like “The Leading Business in Lawn Care” Although this isn’t the most creative slogan, it hits the nail on the head when it comes to explaining to my clients what exactly it is my business does. As the slogan implies, I take care of lawns, and I am the best at doing so. In this one concise line, I get the word out to guests about what they can expect from me. Take the guesswork out, easy as that.

Relate it to Your Business

How to Create Your Landscaping Advertising Slogan

Say the slogan I came up with for my new business was “Watering Florida’s Lands since 2020”. This is a good slogan because it ties into my business, which is landscaping. It tells the customers where my business is located, which is in Florida. It tells them when I started my business, which was in 2020. It is unique to my company and gives the audience seeing my slogan a quick overview of what my business is about.

It also gives my business a bit of a local aspect to it, because now all my clients seeing my company name along with my slogan will know that I started in Florida, and have always had my business in Florida. It also instantly gives them an idea of how long my business has been around. In this case, I have two legs up on why clients may choose me over others – that I am a locally-owned business, I have been around for a few years, and am not brand new to the industry. All because I chose a carefully crafted slogan that does all the talking for me.

This is why when creating your slogan, you’ll need to be very methodical about what you choose and how it connects back to you. You don’t want guests to get the wrong idea about what services you provide or what values you represent as a company. So be mindful about what slogan you settle on. Once it is connected to your brand, you technically can change it, but it will be hard to erase the old one from peoples’ brains and get them to associate you with the new one. So just try to nail it on the head the first time around to avoid this.

Be Creative

Lastly, let your creative side out when coming up with a slogan. As we talked about earlier, you’ll have more luck winning over clients if you can connect with them emotionally. So, try to make your slogan creative and appealing and show a side of your business they may not see otherwise. Something like “Three Brothers and a Mower – Family Owned Since 1985” shows your clients that the company is family-owned and that you have been around since 1985.

Or maybe you’ll choose something like “The Only Business to Survive the Great Depression” This one of course needs a humorous eye when viewing – but it also tells your clientele that you have been around for quite a while and that your business has stood the test of time. Whatever your strong point is, whether it be locally owned, family-owned, been around for 100 years, the only business in town, etc. working it into your slogan can act as a huge advantage to you!

If you’re having trouble coming up with something, try brainstorming with friends or co-workers. Start with what you feel is the core concept that you want to share about your brand. Go from there and come up with phrases and words that you feel best represent this concept. Once you get the ball rolling with a group of people, you’ll be surprised at how quickly you guys land on something perfect for your brand!

Using These Tips to Create Your Slogan

So, this is where the hard part comes in. This is where you use the guidelines we looked at above to create your slogan. Each of the guidelines above helps your business differently. You may not come up with a slogan that hits all four of these points but try using at least two or three of them when coming up with yours. This will help you come up with an iconic slogan to match your already iconic company and stand apart from all the others in your field!

Just remember, it is easier than you think, and you don’t have to overthink it. Think of what your business means to you and the parts that you want to show off to the world. If you could capture the essence of your business in one phrase, what would it be? That’s what your slogan is.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long or short should my slogan be?

There isn’t a hard rule when it comes to picking the length, but it should more or less be a quick and easy phrase that is easy to remember. There are some slogans out there that are a bit longer, but the most popular ones are going to be the ones that customers can easily repeat and remember later. So, try not to get too wordy with it, a short phrase or sentence should suffice.

What is the best way to get my slogan’s attention?

I would attach your slogan to wherever your company name and if applicable logo can be found. Whether it’s your website, social media pages, fliers, Facebook ads, or whatever it may be, attach it to everything. This ensures that it gains as much attention as your business’s name will and customers will always connect the two.
